'Cause you're not in control

So not a fan of having the internet at home crap out on me. Yeah. I got home from work last night, and it was down, and hasn't been back up since. I guess I'll have to call about it soon, but for now, I just dragged me and my laptop to the Think Coffee to catch up on 30+ hours of not being online. The horror!

Of course, it has to be raining this weekend. It's been hot and humid and sweltering for the past week--including last weekend--but this weekend, when I had plans to go to the beach both today and tomorrow, it's raining. I didn't go today, obviously; we'll see about tomorrow. After church, I'm heading out to Jersey to hang out with Adina and her friend Kim, so that'll be fun. I've heard a lot about Kim, and it'll be great to meet her!

By the way, anyone who's keeping track, moving day (into Kim and Kris' house) is four weeks from today. So anyone that's been conscripted by Kat, Kim, or me (I think that, so far, that includes Dad, Carl, Aaron, Edwin, Jordan, and Trevor)... now you know. Mark your calendar. The more people (and the more vehicles) we have, the less time it'll take. Maybe we can even make it in one trip!

Oy. I'm so not looking forward to unpacking. In a sense, there's that "Oh! I forgot I even own this!"--like when we were kids and Mom (by the way, hope you and Carl are having fun in Japan!) would rotate our toys every few months, so that it would seem like there was new stuff coming more often. But at the same time... ugh. It means I have to unpack it all. Blah. Oh well. At least this time, when I pack, it's a few suitcases, not many, many boxes. It's kind of nice that everything else is already packed.

And hey--it means I get to be reacquainted with the Quiznos boxes! I haven't had to lug those around in way too long. Heh.

I think that Everwood has some of the greatest music of any TV show. I've got a playlist of a bunch of songs from the show, and I just love the style and feeling of it. It's perfect mellow, funky, kind of indie music, and I can seriously put this playlist on repeat and just have it playing for hours.

Um, what else? Not much. I wrote lots this week, which is cool. I feel creative and accomplished, which is great. I'm fully addicted to my lj. It's definitely my TV/fic/fandom-related blog these days. As much fun as the Gilmore blog was, I think that I'll probably switch it up with the lj. It's so much more conducive to things like that. I probably won't transfer over my thoughts (yet, at least. Maybe eventually) from the Gilmore blog to the lj, but anything new is definitely going up over there.

That's about it. Just hoping for sun tomorrow, so a second beach day doesn't get canceled/rescheduled.

Ok, so, about move in day. I work 11-4, and I'll try to switch it, but worse case scenario, if you move in between those hours, I'm not there. I can give you my key or something if you want to drop by work or something, but when we get closer to the time of the moving, we'll discuss more in length. My words don't make sense, but my brain isn't working. I'm sure you get the gist.

Gaaaah! 30+ hours! I'm surprised you didn't suffer extreme internet withdrawal! :-)

Oh, I'm still suffering withdrawal! I brought my laptop to work so that I can sit in Bryant Park and check email, and fortunately, I've got an NYU i.d. card, so I can use their computer lab. Otherwise, I'd be sunk.
