Go away

Seriously, if you're not watching Veronica Mars yet, may I ever-so-politely ask WHY NOT?!?!

You should be. Go find a copy of the season 1 DVDs to borrow from someone, and I promise that you will be addicted to the show by the time you finish the first disc.

In any case, GG and VM thoughts are up.

And. We open tonight, so if you don't have your tickets for Halo yet, again, I ask, what are you waiting for?!?! Go to Fire Exit's website and book them.

What are you still doing here? I gave you two--not one, but two!--links to check out! Get lost! Scram!

Think they're heroes

Can I please take this week off work? Pretty please? There's a reason why theatre people traditionally don't hold jobs that require them to get up at 6 a.m. It doesn't work out so well.

History for sale

Oh, I'm so jealous!

Milo Ventimiglia (Jess Mariano on Gilmore Girls, Peter Petrelli on Heroes, Chris Pierce on American Dreams, Richard Thorne III on The Bedford Diaries, and one of my favorite actors) was doing a signing at the NBC store in New York on Monday. Adina and I were trying to figure out if I could get a last-minute flight out to go with her, and if I didn't have grad school trips coming up, I would have gone in a heartbeat, but unfortunately, that couldn't happen.

She went (and got to meet up with another GGMM friend that I've hung out with, too) and put me on speakerphone while she was meeting him, and she got one of the GG DVD booklets signed for me, so I was there in spirit and ears, if not in person. However, I do have some pictures that she sent:

Milo and Masi Oka, who plays Hiro on Heroes.

The Gilmore Girls season 2 DVD booklet, which Adina got signed for me.

Milo signing the booklets and talking to Adina--apparently he was very gracious, and from what I could hear, it seemed like he was having a bit more of a conversation than just getting the names to sign. And he introduced himself to her, which is hilariously cute.

Anyway, this is the entry that I've been attempting to post for the past three days, but blogger was down yesterday, so I didn't get it up.

Also, it's Wednesday, and I've got all my thoughts from last night's episodes up.

I've got a comp ticket for Halo available. First one to ask for it in the comments (and tell me which show you want it for) gets it!

It runs Nov 29-Dec 2 (next Wednesday through Saturday); 7:30 nightly, 2:00 matinee on Saturday.

As for the rest of you, have you booked your tickets yet?

Odds of faith in the face of doubt

Oops, I'm a couple of days late posting the link. Just GG thoughts this week; I didn't have my act together enough to get the VM stuff into my lj. Which is kind of funny, because by the time I'm finished writing everything I do for MI.net, I probably watch each episode of VM about 5 or 6 times before the next one airs. I just don't analyze it the same way. I pick apart the references and the details, as opposed to the characters and relationships, which is what I pick apart with GG (which I only watch about 3 times, on average, but I dissect it far more thoroughly), and that's what makes it into the more lengthy reviews on my lj.

On the grad school front... Applications are being sent out in T minus 14 days. That's the plan, at least. December 1. And I've gotten all the recommendation requests sent, the transcript requests done, the writing samples chosen, and the statement of intent written and edited once--waiting on a second edit now. I still have to look over and edit my writing samples and pull together my portfolio, but overall, I'm in a good place.

I've got some great friends who are helping with the statement of intent, which is probably the hardest part right now, but there are a few people who have been on selection committees for their own grad schools or who have resources through their universities and are helping me get it tweaked there.

I've got a tentatively planned trip to LA for an interview at CalArts at the beginning of February (hoping to book it before Christmas), and hopefully I'll be able to plan a trip to New York for Brooklyn College sometime soon, too.

Halo opens in two weeks; if you don't have tickets yet, go to Fire Exit's website to get more info and reserve the tickets.

And it's almost time for me to leave work and go out for coffee with Heather to discuss Christmas show stuff, so... I'm off.

Full of starlight

Tuesday! Tuesday! Tuesday!

(Yes, I know I'm a week late with that particular VM reference.)

I really have nothing else to say right now. Applications are coming along; rehearsals are coming along; it's a 4-day work week this week. Exciting?
